EDM Challenge #112: Draw Something Fresh, Plus Josie

This morning I finally did my #112 Everyday Matters Challenge to draw something fresh. We had nothing fresh in the house all week! Last night I did the grocery shopping and got some fruits and vegetables.

You know you're old and have been married a long time when a Saturday night outing is a trip to the grocery store!!! I saw some young, cute, dressed-up people there - and remembered Saturday night dates. Actually, I was kind of glad I had no place special to go.

I had expected work to be slow all week because of spring break, but it was really busy and really hard. Students came in with all kinds of difficult problems. Spring term begins tomorrow, so people were taking care of late admission and registration, financial aid problems, probation and suspension appeals, bad grades, etc.

Here's a shot of Josie, helping me paint this morning. She likes to sit on anything that is off the ground or table surface. Today she sat on my art box to observe. She has beautiful, icy blue eyes.

We have sun today, so I'm going outside!

or rather:

So we've not been together a long time since our Saturday night outings are an exciting supper at home followed by a DVD....

(was still thinking about a comment I made on another's blog about age when I wrote that last one...)

Mary Ellen, Lin, Kunya, Teri, Kristin, and Brenda - thanks y'all for taking a look at my bananas and for leaving a comment. It's great to hear from you!

And Old Bag....I don't know if we can call you "still young"; I mean you ARE the old bag after all!!!! And supper at home with a DVD ain't much better than the grocery store. But, because you still have a young relationship, I guess we can give you some leeway here. If you wear heels, a mini-skirt, hip-hugging jeans (w/midriff showing), or anything shiny when you have dinner and a DVD, we can call you "young-ish". BTW, what do you want for your birthday????

I'm glad someone has found yellow bananas! I keep finding only green ones here. I really like the harmony in this sketch.

I love the orange tint shading on the yellow bananas. The green plate compliments them very nicely. And, the purple shadow … my!

I should sum my blabbering in this one sentence: I love all the hues in this sketch. They are refreshing to the eyes in a calming, gentle way. (Wait, those are two sentences!)

*Josie is the most beautiful cat I’ve seen.

scary

more like flannel jammie-bottoms and a too-large fleece with a t-shirt

PS -- love the 'nanners!

Andrea, Redhead, Ronell, Marta, Martha, Alison, Snakebite - thanks so much for your nice comments and for taking a look! It's great to hear from you!

Platitudinal - thanks for your nice comments on my blog and for noticing Josie. She is a very pretty cat and she came from the pound (humane society)when she was about 8 months old. She has 5 toes on each foot, so she's unique and quirky.

Old Bag - you are a true Minnesotan!! Plaid jammies and a fleece - Uffda and Ya Sure, You Betcha!
