EDM Challenge #116: Draw Something Green

I think this is the only drawing I'm gonna get done this week. I really wanted to draw something NICE that is green....like green leaves, green pots, green outside. But I've had a bad cold all week and just haven't had any energy. So, tonight I drew my collection of medicines and lame green lettering! I did it in my sketchbook with Micron pen and Crayola colored markers.

I've been drinking cherry cold syrup, dissolving Airborne tablets, swallowing decongestants day and night. I don't know if it's just an Oregon thing or not, but the GOOD decongestants have been banned from over-the-counter sale because meth lab people steal them and use them to make illegal drugs with. The new stuff just doesn't work as well. I found a few of the old ones in my bathroom drawers tonight, so they will last for a couple of days. I called the pharmacist and found out I now need a prescription in order to get the old "Sudafed" with pseudoephedrine.

I took one day off from work this week and but went in for the other four. All winter I have successfully avoided all colds and flu. I work with college students and they bring everything into our office, cough all over, touch things with their germy hands. My husband also works in a college and he has been sick with the same thing. We each have our own stash of syrups, cough drops, and pills.

sniff and hack,
Emma Pod

Hahahah, I think that's great, to draw what must be! So sorry you are sick w/ a cold, but what better way to make the best of it than to draw what's most related to your week? :)

Yes, here in florida that good decongestant is behind the counter. You don't need a prescription, you can still get it, but you have to ask the pharmacist for it and sign for it and they ask for your driver's license. It's a pain, but you can get it without your doctor. (D*mn druggies!) Maybe it's the same there?

Get better soon! :)

This made me smile too - with some sympathy though. This is a lovely painting - it has life and vitality- particularly impressive as you were ill when you did it!

Get well soon

IT seems colds these days are so darn resistent -- itwouldn't matter if we inhaled TNT .. they just seem to linger... I hope you're feeling better now -- your sketch is wonderful nonetheless ...but it really is hard to enjoy the journey when your head is all clogged... hope you're better by now!

Thanks for your comments and commiseration everyone! I thought I would get through the season unscathed, but....no. At least it's a bit sunny today, so I'll take the dog out for a walk. My head feels like styrofoam.

Mary, so sorry to hear you are sick. But, the fact that you drew all your medicine bottles is just hysterical! Great drawing!

Well done for drawing even when you feel rotten! Good idea to do the medicines - good drawings too.

I'm also very impressed with your shopping trolley - you've got all those difficult lines and angles just right.

Oh, Emma, I'm so sorry that you're sick. I hope you feel better soon!

*Goodness, that's a lot of medicine! Must be real potent flu bugs!!!

You've made all these drugs look very desirable, Emma! I do hope you are feeling better - it certainly hasn't stinted your sketching ability.

Poor thing, I have allergies and sniffle all year. No hacking though. And you should draw your kleenex. That would look good in a nice greenbox.
