Airport Sketches

We went to Las Vegas for a Moody Blues concert, which was really great! I didn't get any good photos of the band because our seats were too far away. : ( I did get a few pics of hotels and such.

Here are a few sketches I did of fellow travelers in the Portland and Las Vegas airports. This is my first time drawing people just using pens (no pencil or eraser safety net).

An earlier drawing from McDonalds:

Nice travel sketches, Mary -I know what you mean about the 'safety net'. There's something terrifying about pen, but it makes you draw morre decisively. I recently bought an erasable pen, and my drawings are way more hesitant with it - illogical as it seems.

Great sketches! I also love to sketch people in airports--they all are so interesting.

Yup! a pen will do that to you.

Great drawings, first try with pen and all! I really like these. I´m with you and Teri - airports are great for sketching. Train stations too. Such a good atmosphere, interesting people.

Thanks you all! It's fun to sketch strangers, but how do you do it without them feeling "looked at"? I tried to take glances and not stare (and look around at other things too), but people seem to notice when anyone is looking at them.

neat! I rarely try to draw people in real life, I'm always afraid they'll move. :) These are great. :)
