EDM Challenge #159 - Draw a Favorite Cooking Tool

The challenge a week or so ago was to draw a favorite cooking tool. I'm not much of a cook. And I don't have alot of tools other than the basics. No fancy gadgets hang out in my kitchen.

I dug out an old, old favorite item. It's a steel, side-crank flour sifter. It's got the turning metal spirals inside and a screen mesh on the bottom. It works great!

About once a year I use it to sift flour for cookies or cake or something.

Like what you have done with this. I can smell the cookies baking already. My daughter works for a small college in Portland.

I'm immediately transported back to the kitchen at 239 and the drawer with the big old flour bin...is this THAT sifter??

I have one sort of like this too. Great use of color in the reflections.

My what a wonderful rendition. I love this. I have one too, and about the only time, I use it is for Holiday baking.

It's true, rarely used but great to have when the time comes. Love your sketch.

My mom had one of those! I always got to do the sifting when she baked, thought it was so much fun back then. This is lovely - terrific colors - perfect.

You've done a beautiful job on this one. We used to have one but it wasn't really better than an ordinary hand sieve. Not that I bother sieving at all now.

Thanks everyone for visiting and leaving a comment. Good to hear from you. I can't remember when or where I got this sifter. I may have bought it somewhere because it reminded me of the one we had at home - I don't think it's the original!
