Portland got dumped on! The town is closed for a second day. This morning we walked down the the hill to the coffee shop and took some pictures of the neighborhood. It's still pretty snowy and icy, but there is no wind - it's a perfect winter day. We ran into a fellow ex-South Dakotan who said, "This is a typical spring day back home!" The last snow we had was two years ago, so it's always a big deal in Portland. It's very hilly and icy, and getting around is tough. There were lots of accidents.

Wow -- and to think it closed-down the town.
It's amazing isn't it? We got 3-5 inches and everyone went berserk. Of course, it's really hilly and icy here and we don't have many snow plows or sanders. They said that 7% of the city buses were in accidents. We've had two snow days so far and may have another half day tomorrow.
yippee!
Nice pictures!
Wow, these photos are gorgeous!! Reminds me of Wisconsin and why I spend my winters in Arizona :)
What lovely photos, and snow! Here it is hot and humid and for the first time in months and months it is raining, such lovely smells from the garden. Love your blog.
snakebite, teri, and penny - thanks for your comments. I have also enjoyed browsing through your blogs. Our beautiful snow is now turning into ugly snow - the kind that turns brown and gray and clumpy!
it's lovely to see photos of snow, so bright and white (before it turned gray and clumpy!) ... we're in the middle of summer here and it's HOT today, so your pics are so refreshing!
Absolutley stunning photos. I want to live there!
