I am behind in my Everyday Matters drawing projects. Last night I drew #131, a spray bottle. I use it when I'm out in the sun and get too hot. I also sometimes use it when I'm ironing and need to dampen fabric in order to get wrinkles out.
Last weekend, we were talking with friends, remembering how our South Dakota Grandmothers ironed clothes. They used a glass pop bottle with a sprinkler cap attached. I remember my Grandmother used to dampen linens with her bottle and roll them up to get them evenly damp before she'd iron. Aren't we lucky to have steam irons?

Wonderful drawing Emma!
Beautiful drawing, and your story brought back a fond memory of standing next to my mom "ironing" the washclothes on my toy ironing board while she ironed my dad's shirts, a green glass soda bottle with a sprinkler top passing between us. Thanks Mary.
This is great! I really like the green and purple shading on the bottle.
This is a great drawing -- and I really enjoyed reading your thoughts and rememberances!
Wonderful attention to details and love the colors.
Lovely variations in colour - and the memory. My grandmother used to iron things through a wet tea towel.
Cool! I haven't done the spray bottle one yet. Somewhere I have a cute, round, pink one I'd like to draw.
Nice job on your spray bottle and enjoyed the writing.

sweet! good for you for working your way throught the EDM list. Speaking of ironing, I too remember my mom sprinkling water on the clothes to be ironed, rolling them up and putting them in the refridgerator to dampen before she ironed them. Gawd knows what would happen to a white shirt if you tried to put it in my fridge!!
Great drawing! So glad you're back. I have been very neglectful of my art, so I must get back into the groove also.
