How Do You Know Stuff Like This?

My neighbor asked, "so how do you know stuff like this?" I guess it must be the "Bill" factor.

Neighbor and his wife were washing their car with a very sad sprayer attachment. It was leaking as much water out of the connection between the hose and the attachment as it was spraying out the end. He was going to buy a new sprayer head. I asked if he had any plumber's tape. He didn't know what that is.

I went looking for ours, but couldn't find it. So, I took a plastic bag and some scissors out to the hose, cut off a long strip of plastic, wrapped the end of the hose with the strip of plastic, screwed the sprayer back on, and...VOILA!!!....no more leaks! It was as good as a magic trick. My good deed for the day.

thanks Bill,

A Favorite Hawaii Pic

This is a shot of Hapuna Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii, from the lanai at the Hapuna Beach Prince Resort (Dec 04). Waves were so high that beaches were closed for a day.

Making Hood River Proud!

5 high school seniors in Hood River, Oregon created a video for their Spanish class final project. It's a spoof of Shakira's tune "Hips Don't Lie". I guess they've had 4 million hits so far! Mom must be proud.

Could this be a new Chris Farley?

The Oregonian newspaper ran an article on the project:

What's a Pod Person?

The original pod person is not someone who uses an iPod, nor someone who swims with pods of whales or dophins - nor is it a cute, little storage unit. It's a soul-less being. You may have encountered one at your work:
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978 film)
"The plot centers around a doctor who discovers that the people of his town are being replaced by simulations grown from plantlike pods, perfect physical duplicates who kill and dispose of their human victims. The "pod people" are indistinguishable from normal people except for their utter lack of emotion. The pod people work together to secretly spread more pods—which grew from "seeds drifting through space for years"—in order to replace the entire human race."

Thinking Outside the Box

Some people like to
think inside the box.
You can do it if you
want, but I wouldn't
recommend it.

It's hard to fit in a
space that small.
